Dexter Beef

Dexter cattle produce some of the most flavorful beef you can put on your table. As one of the oldest and smallest cattle breeds, Dexters yield fine-grained, well-marbled meat in portions that fit a family freezer — without the excess of a full-sized beef animal.

Why Dexter Beef

  • Rich, full flavor — fine marbling and a depth of taste that reflects how the animal was raised
  • Right-sized portions — a smaller-framed animal means a more manageable amount of beef and less freezer space than conventional breeds
  • Grass-raised, grain-finished — our cattle grow up on the open sand sagebrush rangeland of northwestern Oklahoma, then finish on grain in small groups of just one to three head, fed by hand, for about the last 120 days to develop a good degree of marbling
  • Known lineage — every animal comes from our own herd, raised here from birth

How Buying Works

We sell live, finished Dexter animals direct from our farm. When you purchase an animal, you choose the processor and arrange the cutting and packaging directly with them. Working with your own processor means you decide exactly how your beef is handled — the cuts, the package sizes, the ground-beef blend, and anything special you’d like.

Whether you want a whole animal for your household or plan to split one with family or friends, you buy the live animal from us and take it from there with the processor of your choice.

Delivery to Your Processor

We deliver live animals to the processor of your choice anywhere within 60 miles of Woodward, Oklahoma. Once you’ve selected a facility and scheduled your processing date with them, we’ll coordinate delivery of your animal so it arrives on time.
